Explore the surrounding area and visit the culturally and culinary very interesting town of Mattinata. Worth seeing in Mattinata are, among others, the church Chiesa Santa Maria della Luce, the Museo Civico Mattinata, with necropolis finds, as well as the already mentioned Roman excavations near the harbor. The 19th century Palazzo Mantuano houses the municipal library, and Palazzo Barretta, from the 20th century, the town hall. Just outside the city, on Monte Sacro, there are also the remains of a medieval Benedictine abbey. The Baia di Mattinata is known for its extensive, gently sloping beaches. The town is also part of the Gargano National Park, characterized by pine forests, destination of many nature lovers. It is also worth mentioning the beautiful location of Mattinata, surrounded by woods and olive groves and dominated towards the sea by two majestic limestone cliffs in the sea, the Faraglioni.
